On 18th November 2013, our lecturer,Sir Mohd Fairuz Iskandar bin Othman has gave us a task that should be submitted on 22nd December 2013 (about a month ) to create a blog for our subject, COMPUTER ORGANIZATIONS AND ARCHITECTURE. In that blog, we should provide 4 main subtopics and we should explain what exactly the topic about.So , here are the topic that we choose to displayed it on our blog.

• Digital Logic
• Digital Logic Simulator
• Input/Output

Before we proceed with the topic, let us give some briefing about our subject.

INTRODUCTION ON COMPUTER ORGANIZATION AND ARCHITECTURE

What is COMPUTER??

• an electronic device that can accept data(input), process input into useful information, according to a set of instructions, providing a storage for the instructions and the results and produce the information or output.


What is COMPUTER SYSTEM??

• a complete, working computer that operate system, software and hardware to make a computer       function.


2 important elements in computer that we should know...

• HARDWARE

          - input devices
            eg : keyboard, mouse, pointing devices, touch screens, pen input, audio
                   input, scanner, etc.
          - CPU
          - output devices
             eg. : printers, data projector, audio output devices, etc.
          - storage devices

• SOFTWARE

          - system software

          - application software

ARCHITECTURE AND ORGANIZATION 

-Architecture is defined as those attributes(instruction set, number of bits used for data representation, I/O mechanisms, addressing techniques) visible to the programmer.

-Organization is defined as how features (control signals, interfaces, memory technology) is implemented.Organization differs between different versions.

STRUCTURE & FUNCTIONS

-Structure is the way in which components relate to each other .

-Function is the operation of individual components as part of the structure.  

There are four basics functions performed by a computer system :

- data processing

- data storage(long term & short term data storage function)

- data movement(computer & input output (i/o) /movement over longer distance(data communication)

- control

All of the notes above is a basic knowledge of computer that we should know to ease our work and understanding.So, what are we waiting for.
